Day 1 Yellow Training Belt: Six Sigma Fundamentals & Define & Phases

This course is intended to help prepare you to pass the ASQ Six Sigma Yellow Belt exam.

a) Levels of cognition for the exam: Remember, Understand, Apply, Analyze, Evaluate, Create
b) Pre-test
c) Six Sigma Fundamentals & Principles: Purpose. The DMAIC Methodology, Lean Foundations & Principles, Six Sigma Roles & Responsibilities
d) Team Basics: Types of Teams, Stages & Development, Decision Making Tools, Communication Methods
e) Quality Tools: Quality tools, Six Sigma Metrics
Define Phase:
f) Project identification & selection methods: Stakeholder Analysis, Process Inputs and outputs
g) Project management basics: Project Charter, Communication plan, Project planning, Project management tools, Phase reviews
Measure Phase:
h) Basic Statistics: Data collection plans, qualitative and quantitative data, Data collection techniques
i) Measurement System Analysis (MSA): MSA terms, Gauge repeatability and reproducibility (GR&R)

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand the ASQ Yellow Belt Body of Knowledge (BOK) that the exam covers.
  • Learn and be able to apply the Six Sigma Problem Solving DMAIC method (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control)
  • Learn how to take the ASQ Certification Exam using sample exam questions.
