Do you have more data than Excel can seem to manage?  Access may be the next tool for you.  Microsoft Access is a database management tool with integrated graphical interface.  Access allows you to store and manage large sets of local data or share data from external sources such a database server.  In this short course, we will cover the basics of tables, relationships, queries, forms, and reports.  We will also explore how to structure data efficiently to maximize your opportunities to do something useful.  While this course is introductory, a firm grasp of Excel is recommended including formulas and pivot tables.

Prereq: Students are required to bring laptop with Access loaded to allow them to work through examples with the instructor. Course will be taught using Excel 2016. Excel 2010 and 2013 are also acceptable though there will be some differences.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Import and export data from tables.
  2. Make queries on data from multiple tables.
  3. Create a form and a report from data.
