Quality Calibration Technician

Requirements include: HS diploma, AAS degree preferred and 5+ yrs exp in metrology, calibration and measurement systems, quality inspection, control, data analysis, and problem solving. Knowledge of industry standards and measurement systems analysis (MSA) to interpret gage R&R studies  Strong experience with quality tools, CMM, GD&T drawings, collaboration with engineering, operations, and production. SPC a plus.   

Quality Engineer II

Requirements include: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, 3+ yrs exp in product/process quality engineering including APQP, FMEA, data analysis, problem solving, and warranty reduction. Knowledge of probability dist., reliability modeling/prediction, mechanical design, mfg process, quality tools, collaborates with engineering, operations, and suppliers. CQE/CRE, and 6-Sigma.

Supply Chain Analyst

Job Summary

This person is responsible for purchasing materials from suppliers to support production. He/She is responsible for parts forecasting and inventory planning. This person is familiar with Buell purchasing systems, such as MRP and NCM. The person has strong understanding of common concepts, practices and procedures within the materials management field. This includes skills in cost management, lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and quality. This person has sound skills in communicating with suppliers and other stakeholders. This person has sound skills in handling supplier issues of medium complexity independently.

Supplier Quality

• Identify and address supplier issues that affect key measures. These measures include parts per million (PPM), and assembly conditions per hundred (CPH). Manage non-conforming material rework and return processes. Process debit memos within the stated time frame.
• Work with the Quality department to ensure that adequate, effective and timely corrective actions plans are created to address supplier quality issues. Minimize exposure and prevent recurrence through the utilization of such tools as production concerns issues list, ICARs and Papp’s. Communicate with the supplier, assembly and other internal stakeholders as to inventory on hand and subsequent activities necessary to resolve the issue.
• Ensure that adequate verification/validation (PPAP) is performed prior to implementation of running changes or other mid-model year part or supplier introductions.
• Ensure that suppliers understand and are compliant with label and packaging requirements.
• Provide oversight of tool lifecycle management, maintenance and replacement.
• Ensure ISO compliance.

Inventory Management

• Responsible for requirements planning, forecasting and replenishments to ensure an adequate supply of purchased product from assigned suppliers.
• Identify and address supplier issues that affect key measures. This includes on-time delivery, operational downtime, schedule disruption.
• Ensure optimal inventory levels and flexibility at Buell and at the supplier. This includes monitoring days on hand, lead times and understanding the constraints within the supply chain.
• Improve material flow from suppliers to the point of use at the assembly station.  Reduce lead times in order to better manage inventory levels due to schedule changes.  Implement “Pull” replenishment with suppliers where applicable.
• Ensure that assigned suppliers have adequate capacity, demonstrated and planned, to provide for continuing operations as well as future sustainable growth.
• Responsible for managing production parts changeover and phase out at launch. This includes ordering carryover parts, monitoring purchase orders to ensure optimal inventory levels for discontinuing parts, and processing material disposition orders.
• Work with Purchasing Engineering to provide operations input on package sizes, lot sizes, lead times, delivery timing and packaging on new parts.
• Work with shipping and receiving and materials handlers to understand affects of inventory levels and other warehouse issues and adjust purchase orders as necessary.

Cost

• Manage purchased part spending, identify continuous improvement opportunities, and execute cost reduction activities throughout the assigned supply chain.
• Obtain cost breakdowns from key suppliers to better understand opportunities for cost improvement.
• Manage purchase price variance to maintain standard costs.

Personal Development

• Work with manager to create an action plan to develop a skill set around a selected process. Share learnings to strengthen department capabilities.  
• Participate in the PEP process on a quarterly basis.
• Create an individualized training plan, and participate in ongoing training.

Job Specifications

-   BA or BS Degree or equivalent experience is required.

-   3+ years of experience purchasing OEM components preferred or equivalent experience.

-   Experience in a just in time manufacturing environment.  Familiarity with EDI is preferred.

-   Demonstrated skills in lean materials management/continuous improvement.

-   Experience in managing overseas suppliers is a plus.

-   Demonstrated cost savings results.

-   Understanding of ISO standards and experience in an ISO certified manufacturing facility.

-   Understanding of the MAX MRP system and/or SAP is a plus.

-   Competency in computerized purchasing systems required.

-   Computer proficiency in spreadsheets and word processing.

-    Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Quality Inspector

TecStar Manufacturing, a premier thermoplastics injection molder in the Germantown, WI area is seeking an experienced Quality Inspector. Responsibilities will include interpreting part drawings and specifications, inspection instructions, performing dimensional and visual inspection of product and maintaining records of same.

Candidates will have experience in SPC charting, use of gauging equipment and GD&T callouts. Basic computer experience is required. The ideal candidate will have 3 – 5 years experience in a quality role within a manufacturing environment. Experience within the plastics injection or blow molding industry is a plus.
